I can not express how much fun I had making underwater creatures for Door#2. Full credit due to Michael for the incredible environment he created in this window and the FISH!! If you get a chance to walk by the window and check them out in better detail, you won't regret it! I was in charge of an octopus, a school of silver fish for the background, and mollusks (lots of mollusks!) Again, all made out of our own garbage or materials bought at the IDEA store.
The silver fish are cut from one bag of Boom Chicka Popcorn - nice and shiny on the inside!
The octopus is built around the core of a mason jar and a discorded jello mold for brain shaped jello. Then I used stange copper springs I found at the IDEA store for the structure of the tentacles and all kinds of clear plastics to make him look like a Dumbo octopus. His suckers are white buttons from the IDEA store and his eyes are cut from egg cartons with large colored buttons inside.
The mollusks are the same egg containers cut to look like an open shell, painted on the inside and the I used rose pattern upholstery fabric to be the soft body of the creature poking through. Final touch is the recycled "pulleys" from soda cans which you can purchase by the pound at, yes you guessed it, the IDEA store!!
Once again our quote appears, "This is the way the world ends" hmm, do we detect a pattern?
Great thanks to Scott Fernsler for the license plate!
