Wanted to share a bit about the making of the elements in Door #3. The corn is made almost entirely from trash that came out of my house on Christmas day (see first photo), save the tubes which were purchased at the IDEA store. I already had the green paint.
The clouds are "filled" alternately with fabric from the IDEA store as well as the plastic from two oversized zippered bags I found there.
The banner featuring the T.S. Eliot quote in the back, "This is the way the world ends" is cut from one flattened amazon box
The most challenging part of this was definitely the chain link fence. Originally I secured a section of real chain link (thanks John Odum) but then thought it would be too difficult to manage and actually perhaps too low contrast in color to be really visible. Then for some random reason Michael and I were talking about crocheting and he threw out the fantastical idea of crocheting the chain link (good pun there!) So I said why not! Learned how to crochet via Youtube and bought the yarn at IDEA store. Over 144 feet of crochet links later...I will tell ya, making the pattern of a chain link is harder than you think! Helped to put it up on my basement wall!!
